House Pensions Committee Seeks Public Testimony

The Texas House Pension, Investments and Financial Services Committee is hosting a public hearing at 10 a.m. CT on Monday, June 6, 2022, regarding the operation of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas and its school district employee benefits program participation.

House Bill 1585 (actuarial soundness of the TRS) and Senate Bill 1444 (benefit enhancements, including a COLA for TRS retirees) are up for public testimony. Members of the public of limited to 3 minutes of testimony. 

Witness registration information can be found here for those who would like to provide testimony in person. The public hearing is in the Capitol Extension room E2.030. To access the Capitol Extension, take the North Wing elevators to Floor E2 of the underground Capitol Extension.
